Congratulations to David Healy from Oxford, who has just returned from running the Paris Marathon (Sunday 15th April) in aid of Helen & Douglas House.
David, who is a physiotherapist specialising in sports injuries, had never run a full marathon before, so he knew how important it was to train up to the level required to undertake such a big task!
He completed the run in 3hrs 37 minutes (that�s about eight minutes a mile!)
David says, �I�m really pleased with the time, as it was such a hot day in Paris and lots of people were having to stop. There was such a great atmosphere during the run and, of course, running through the streets of Paris and passing sites like the Arc de Triomphe made it a really interesting route! I chose to support Helen & Douglas House because it�s a local charity and as a physio I appreciate what many of these children and young people have to cope with.�
David has raised a grand total of �1,700 from sponsorship by friends and family, and also had the support of Oxygen Business Networking group of which he is a member � the group donated �500 as part of their commitment to giving something back to the community.
Jill Treloggen from the Group says, �We were delighted to sponsor David on this challenge, and we are so inspired by his success, we will be putting forward a team to run in the London 10k in July!�
