Making a regular financial contribution is a simple but highly valuable way of demonstrating your support. As well as providing vital income, knowing that we can expect the donation helps us plan ahead for the services we can offer our families.
Whether you are able to make a monthly donation through our direct debit scheme, or can offer to donate a percentage of your profits, all the funds go directly towards supporting our families.
Setting up a payroll giving scheme is a great way for staff members to make contributions direct from their salary. It’s easy to set up and administer and employees can choose to opt in or out of the scheme, which charities they donate to and the amount they wish to give. As tax relief is given on contributions at source, it's also a very tax effective way of giving. For example, if a standard rate tax payer gives £5 per month it costs them only £4 due to the tax relief on their donations. For higher rate tax payers donating £5 costs only £3. “The team at APM Internet are delighted to be able to support Helen and Douglas House as our chosen charity. There was a company-wide wish to do something for a worthwhile local charity and put a little back into the community. After some research it was decided that we should support Helen and Douglas House as our chosen charity by donating 5% of our after-tax profit each year. We have also sponsored our own intrepid aviatrix Kate Banks to give a flying experience to some of the children and their families from Helen & Douglas House as part of the Young Eagles programme.”
