We understand how difficult it can be for schools to decide which charities to support. At Helen & Douglas House we believe that by being actively involved with a school, students are able to gain a better knowledge of the charity they are supporting, as well as a deeper understanding of how they can help to make a difference to the lives of others.

Why choose Helen & Douglas House?

Helen House was the world’s first children’s hospice, and Douglas House was the first hospice in the world for teenagers and young adults. We provide a vibrant and positive environment where children live life to the full, and the whole family is supported.
Our fundraising team can support you in all areas of your fundraising. You can contact us by email or by calling 01865 799150.
We can provide speakers for school assemblies and fundraising events, as well as to groups such as the School Council. All talks are delivered in a sensitive way and are tailored to suit the age of the students.

How you can support us

Schools choose to support us in different ways. Some may choose to raise money for us with a one-off event, such a sponsored walk; while others will select us as their Charity of the Year. Some schools prefer to develop a long-term partnership with us to enable the whole school community to build strong and positive links with us over a number of years. However your school operates, there will be a fundraising opportunity somewhere!
