Shop Team Volunteers
We are always looking for volunteers to help run our bright, modern shops across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties.
- you don’t need to commit to a full day, a couple of hours every so often would be fantastic
- no previous experience is necessary as you will receive on-the-job training
- we can offer NVQ’s
You will be:
- working on the till
- sorting and pricing donated stock
- creating attractive displays
- helping customers.
Do you have specialist knowledge of fashion, antiques, books, etc? We’d love to hear from you, so we can get the most out of our donated stock.
Interested? Pop into one of our shops and ask the Manager or Assistant Manager for an application form.
Retail Team Volunteer Drivers/Drivers Mates
We need more drivers to collect stock from individual donors and “bag drops” and distribute goods to our shops.
We are also looking for driver’s mates to help support the drivers in lifting and loading stock.
Warehouse Volunteers
Could you help at our retail warehouse in Abingdon, Oxon? Ideally you would be able to offer one or two days a week.
You would:
- Help sort boxes ready for delivery to each shop
- Help unload the van when it delivers stock to the warehouse
- Organise stock in the warehouse
- Be under the day-to-day supervision of the Retail Operations Supervisor, who will offer guidance and support.
- Be entitled to claim travelling expenses.
e-Bay Volunteer
Are you an e-Bay aholic? Helen & Douglas House has an e-Bay shop! We need volunteers to help us manage this. You would spend your days placing values on donated items, making assessments as to whether they are suitable for e-Bay sales, listing items etc...
