Work Experience Opportunities 2012
Helen & Douglas House is proud to offer a limited number of Work Experience Placements for 2012. Being part of our community and working closely with schools is a priority for us.
Work Experience at Helen and Douglas House is rigorous and engaging – not to mention fun! It’s the ideal placement for students who wish to find out more about working in the charity sector. We expect students to rise to a variety of challenges, as you will be given a rare opportunity to grasp the structure of the whole of the organisation. This will lead to an understanding of how our many different teams work together to provide a caring environment for young people with very complex conditions.
It is essential that students understand that they will not spend time working with our patients. This is because our care and bereavement teams provide a very personal family environment tailored to individual needs and built up through long-term relationships. Unfortunately this isn’t compatible with the short-term nature of work experience. However, they will have one to one time with staff who will do everything they can to help them understand the nature of our work.
