These weekends give young people time away from home, a chance to share their experiences with others who understand, and most of all to have great fun!
The weekends are carefully thought out, with structured activities allowing the young people to talk to others about their experiences. Everyone really gets to know each other through the activities, and there is always plenty of encouragement, cheering, laughter and chatting going on.
The young people who attend quickly get to know each other, and meeting at a camp is often the beginning of an on-going friendship. We typically hold two weekends away for the children and young adults, one for 8-11 year olds and the other for 12-17 year olds. Like the Elephant Club, the camps are open to all siblings whose brother or sister uses Helen & Douglas House, or whose brother or sister has died.
