Helen & Douglas House continues to support families after their child has died. Grief is a natural process, but it can be helpful to talk to someone who isn’t so closely involved.
The Family Support and Bereavement Team offer bereavement support visits to everyone in the family. Usually visits take place at home, and we will sometimes work with the whole family together, or with parents as a couple or individually, or with siblings.
We have learned over the years how valuable the support of other parents is, and we offer a time limited (six sessions) group for recently bereaved parents. Not everyone has the time or need for a group, so we also run one-off workshops on a regular basis, details of which can be found in the calendar of events.
You will also be invited to our Remembrance Days and, with your permission, we will enter your child’s or young adult’s name in our Remembrance Book.
