Comedian Jimmy Carr paid a private visit to Helen & Douglas House on 16 November 2009. He spent over two hours looking round the houses and chatting to the staff, children, guests and families staying. He also brought with him boxes of delicious doughnuts for everyone and his latest DVD for guests at Douglas House. A few weeks later Jimmy paid a return visit to the charity,

to perform in the Douglas House bar to the delight of families and staff.  

Jimmy takes a keen interest in the charity and has appeared in Childish Things at the New Theatre (acting as compere in 2008) to help raise money for Helen & Douglas House.
