Huge thanks go to Jeremy and Francie Clarkson and Lucinda McFarlane who hosted and organised a fabulous Taxi Treasure Hunt in black cabs from the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Teams started arriving at 2.30pm. On entering the marquee which was set up in front of the Royal Hospital, they had to take part in a ‘grid challenge’ before they could set off. Once the grid section was completed teams rushed out with challenge books and digital cameras in hand, to one of the 25 cabs lined up outside.
The teams returned by 6.30 to enjoy a champagne reception while having their answers marked.
Congratulations to 2 Entertain (Team One) who came first, joint second (with exactly the same score) were Twenty Four and Winton Capital (Team One) with the Mason/Robinson team coming third and The Sun fourth.
At 7.30 180 guests moved through to the Great Hall for an excellent three course dinner. Helen House parent and Events Manager Lizzie Pickering, shared her thoughts on life at Helen & Douglas House, while Jeremy Clarkson energised the audience with an action packed auction. Harry Enfield drew the raffle and other celebrity supporters included Paul Whitehouse, Fiona Bruce, Nick Mason, Mike Rutherford, The Feeling’s Dan Gillespie Sells, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Annie Rice, Patrick Kielty, Colin Salmon, Jane Moore and Tiff Needell.
Thanks to the generosity of the David Harding Charitable Foundation, the event was 100% sponsored so every penny raised is for Helen & Douglas House.
Thanks to Sam Gill and his team at The Ultimate Experience – especially Nicci Purnell and Daniel Brightmore; Paul Bowen at the Royal Hospital Chelsea; Serena Thompson and the team at Create for their delicious food and excellent service and Simeon Aldred at Vibration Music.
