Antiques expert and TV personality Jonty Hearnden, will join Sister Frances Dominica, the founder and trustee of Helen & Douglas House, to open the charity’s new shop at 56-58 Sycamore Road, Amersham, at 11.00 a.m, on the day of the election, Thursday 6 May.

The shop needs volunteers and unwanted goods as donations.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Wendy Bridge, or Vicky Bond-Jones, on 01865 794749. Anyone with goods to donate can drop into the shop, or call Helen & Douglas House on 01235 530857. A collection service is available for larger items.

One sack of donated good quality second-hand clothing equates to about £40 for Helen & Douglas House, which can, for example, cover the cost of a home visit by the Bereavement Team to a family whose child has died.
