Berkshire based company Connor is supporting Helen & Douglas House, a pioneering children’s and young adults’ hospice, by sponsoring Windsor Football Club and giving the charity’s logo pride of place on the football kit, on Scottie the mascot’s kit and in the grounds of the stadium.
Connor, a leading outplacement provider, has offered Helen & Douglas House ongoing support over a period of several years. It is hoped that this latest initiative will help to raise further awareness of the charity, as well as vital funds for the two hospice houses that offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically supported short-breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family.
Fraser Silvey, Commercial Director, Connor said; ‘We have been supporting Helen & Douglas House for many years, as the work that they do caring for children, young adults and their families is invaluable. Connor is a company that stands by its family values and by sponsoring the charity’s good name through Windsor Football Club, we hope to be able to help more families, whilst helping the town’s new community club.’
Joanna Mitchell, Head of Fundraising, Helen & Douglas House said; ‘We are dependent on voluntary donations for over 80% of the cost of running the two hospice houses. When Connor approached us about this sponsorship we felt that it was a fantastic opportunity for us, with no cost to the charity. We cannot thank them enough for their support.’
Windsor Football Club is based at Windsor Great Park and its Patron is the Duke of Edinburgh. They play 24 home games and 24 away games per season and the club encourages young people in the area to get active, have fun and be involved in a local group. For more information visit www.windsorfc.net
