Time is running out for Helen & Douglas House and Cancer Research UK to benefit from people bidding for stays in gorgeous holiday homes, through a charity on-line auction organized by Holiday Lettings™.
So far £32,000 has been raised in the online auction, but with just a few days to go it is hoped that more people will get behind the charity auction and increase this figure.
Throughout June people have been bidding for holiday homes donated by the owners. Holiday homes bid for so far have included a week staying at a villa with pool in Tuscany for £1,029 (worth £2,000); a week in a villa for 10 people on the Algarve for £420 (worth £575) and a week in a cottage for 8 people in Norfolk for £210 (worth £290). The daily auctions end on Monday, 4 July, but from Wednesday, 6 July until Sunday, 10 July there will be a one off ‘buy it now’ opportunity for people to help Holiday Lettings raise even more funds for the two charities.
Vanessa Fay, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Helen & Douglas House said; ‘The home owners and Holiday Lettings have been extremely generous. To have £16,000 donated to each of our charities would be marvelous, but if people are still thinking about this year’s holiday, at home or abroad, we would love it if they would take part and raise even more to help people dealing with serious conditions and disability.’
