Toyota Great Britain has presented a modified Hiace van and a Yaris car to Helen & Douglas House. The van will be used to transport our guests on trips and visits and the car mainly for the family support and bereavement team to visit families.
Toyota decided to donate the vehicles during conversations with one of our great friends and supporters, Mrs Kidani, about the Helen & Douglas House 25th anniversary London Chamber Orchestra concert, held earlier this year. This generous donation will make a big difference to the families, children and young adults at Helen & Douglas House.
Miguel Fonseca, Managing Director, Toyota Great Britain said: ''An important aspect of Toyota's work is providing mobility assistance to all and our mobility programme aims to do just that. We hope that the two vehicles we are donating today will help Helen and Douglas House in its day-to-day activities and support the admirable services it provides. The Hiace has been specially adapted so that it can be accessible to wheelchairs, together with some extra comforts such as air conditioning and satellite navigation. The Yaris will support the excellent work undertaken in supporting families and making home visits. We are very pleased that in some small way we are able to help Helen and Douglas House in the very special work that it does.'' Mr Fonseca formally handed the keys over to Sister Frances Dominica with staff, guests and members of the Toyota team Great Britain and Europe present. A big thank you to Toyota for their generous and much appreciated donation.
