Helping families to do things their way when their child dies.
There can be no greater tragedy than the death of a child. For those closest to the child everything seems beyond their control. Yet there are many choices which must be made and these not need be the perogative of the doctor, pastor, or funeral director, or indeed anyone else, other than the child's parents and family.
In this book Sister Frances draws on her experience as founder of Helen House and then Douglas House to suggest practical ways for the bereaved family to exercise these choices at the time of death, and find comfort in expressing love for their child to the very last. The first section offers advice on the various decisions that will have to be made, the options open to the family and the legal requirements. The second section is an anthology of readings, songs and prayers from which the family may create a funeral service which is fitting for their child.
