This London to Paris Bike Ride is organised by Global Adventure Challenges and it’s a great way to raise money for Helen & Douglas House. Spend 4 days in the saddle, cycling 311 miles from capital to capital. Your journey begins in London with the route taking us through glorious English countryside.

You will cycle from Kent to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais. Once across the water, you will start cycling ‘French style’, remembering to keep to the right. Cycle along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of Northern France, passing the war memorials and cemeteries of the Somme. A spectacular finish awaits as you reach the home stretch around the Arc de Triomphe and down the Champs Elysées, before reaching the piece de resistance, the Eiffel Tower, which marks the finish line. The days in the saddle may be long but the sense of achievement you’ll feel crossing the finish line and the euphoric atmosphere as we celebrate our achievements in this magnificent capital, the saddle soreness soon wears off.

Why not add some Tour de France excitement into the mix and enjoy simply the best road cycling challenge we have to offer!

On our Tour de France finale challenge you’ll arrive in Paris in time to witness the finale of the world’s greatest cycle race. As you enter Paris in one large peloton, the crowds will be cheering thinking the Tour has reached the city one day early! The atmosphere is simply electric!

Why should you cycle for Helen & Douglas House?

Your participation in London to Paris Bike Ride is going to make a real difference to local terminally ill children and their families. This year, it costs £3.6m to run our hospice and provide our outreach nursing service to help families at home and we cannot do this without your help.

Toby is five-years-old with a complex neurological condition called Dravet Syndrome, which means he experiences very frequent and severe seizures. The family was referred to Helen & Douglas House by their Health Visitor in October 2014, when Toby was 11-months-old. ‘The breaks at Helen & Douglas House keep us sane. They allow us to be the people we are. We’d fall apart without it.’ Tim, Toby’s Dad said. ‘Helen & Douglas House picked us up out of a deep dark hole and got us on our feet again.’ Kim, Toby’s Mum.

We need to raise over £3 million each year to care for local terminally ill children at the hospice and at home.
