Thank you so much for supporting us! Your donations to the Helen & Douglas House Radiothon helped us reach an incredible total of… £200,908!

With your help, we will continue to be able to support local terminally ill children, young people, and their families throughout 2018 and beyond. We would like to say huge thanks to Helen & Douglas House families who kindly shared their moving stories, our Care Team, volunteers, and corporate partners.

Huge thanks as well to our friends at JACKfm and Union JACK, particularly Trev and Annabelle, for helping us make this year’s event the best ever!

Families like Imogen’s, who died at Helen & Douglas House on 23rd January 2017, aged just 2 years old, after bravely battling a brain tumour and never failing to smile as she endured chemotherapy, only for the cancer to return.

Imogen’s Mum Kathryn, whose moving story was broadcast on the Radiothon, said:

“We came to Helen & Douglas House because although we dreaded losing Immy we wanted her suffering to be over. We spent Immy’s last days in a hospice so we could be her mummy and daddy, not carers. She became increasingly weaker.”

It costs over £3.6 million every year to run Helen & Douglas House, and 88p in every £1 has to be raised from cash donations from people like you in our community. So, once again, thank you for supporting us.

Charlie’s Story

By donating you will help local families like baby Charlie’s. Baby Charlie passed away in 2012 after being born with Short
Gut Syndrome. Charlie was cared for at the Helen House for the last 12 days of his life.

“The service they gave us was nothing short of remarkable. We had the best of both worlds by being allowed the privacy we wanted as a family but the support we needed to get through such a difficult time. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff.”
