Register for a discounted place at The Sage Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March 2019. At the same time raise money for terminally ill children at Helen & Douglas House. This great half marathon takes in the highlights of the centre of Reading where you will experience huge crowd support, then passes through the beautiful University campus. The race culminates outside the Madejski stadium, with thousands of people cheering you into the stadium and over the finish line.
Discounted Registration fee: £15.00
Sponsorship Target: £200
So whether you run for fun, run to stay fit, run for a club, or run professionally, why not book a place to run with #TeamHDH which gives you over 50% discount on the normal registration fee (normally £36-38) and fundraise to help local terminally ill children.
Why should you put on your running shoes for Helen & Douglas House?
The £200 you raise doing the Reading Half Marathon could pay for Sibling Club for a whole day. Helen & Douglas House run a club for siblings of patients, so that children facing the future without their brother or sister can come together play and discuss their feelings with others experiencing the same thing. A crucial part of ensuring the whole family is supported through and beyond the tough times.
Lily-Mae’s story
Lily-Mae from Witney is 5 years old and has a life-shortening condition called Rett Syndrome. She loves coming to Helen & Douglas House for short breaks and splashing around in our hydrotherapy pool.
‘Helen & Douglas House is my daughter’s special place, to be safe, smile and be happy. A place for me to be Mummy and to take ‘the carer’ role away. Life is precious and here we can make memories to treasure forever.’ – Leanne, Lily-Mae’s Mummy.
