Why should you put on your walking shoes for Helen & Douglas House?

Your participation in our fundraising events is going to make a real difference to us – we care for terminally ill babies, children, young people, and their families through exceptional hospice care.

We rely on the generosity of the public to keep our doors open, with voluntary donations making up the majority of the £3.6m we need to find this year to run the hospice service.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update around our events

The outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the measures we all must take are significant and they affect us all. We are following Government guidance and taking all necessary steps to keep everyone safe. This means that all fundraising events due to take place in the near future have been cancelled or postponed. Those events which are due to take place later this year or next year remain open until we are advised otherwise. If you have already signed up to participate in an event which needs to be postponed or cancelled, you will be notified by an email from our events team.

During these uncertain times, our aim is to continue to care for local terminally children and their families as far as possible. Undoubtedly the income we rely on from the public, our fundraising events and our shops is going to be affected and we will plan to overcome these challenges as much as possible. We rely on donations from the public to fund our work and we need support now more than ever. If you would like to support us and make a donation you can do so at www.helenanddouglas.org.uk/donate/.

Please continue to visit this page for further updates on our Events. If you have any questions or concerns in respect of our events, please contact Hannah Smart or Julia Woodcock in the Events Team at events@helenanddouglas.org.uk

We need to raise over £3 million each year to care for local terminally ill children at the hospice and at home.
