Swim along this beautiful stretch of the River Thames through the organic pastures of Oxford University land. This swim is aimed at all levels of swimmers. Either you’re looking for your first taste of river swimming or you’re training for an Iron Man and would like to swim the full distance before your main event. The swim starts at Eynsham Lock and finishes 4km downstream at Kings Lock. And because it’s with the flow of the river it makes progress a little easier.
Sign up and raise money for Helen & Douglas House!
Date: Sunday 21st June
Registration: 6.00-7.00am
Location: Start at Eynsham, Oxfordshire
Swim Oxford Open is passionate about bringing you stunning open water swimming events in and around Oxford. Why should you take on a swimming challenge for Helen & Douglas House?
Your participation in our fundraising events is going to make a real difference to us – we care for terminally ill babies, children, young people, and their families through exceptional hospice care.
We rely on the generosity of the public to keep our doors open, with voluntary donations making up the majority of the £3.6m we need to find this year to run the hospice service.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) update around our events
The outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the measures we all must take are significant and they affect us all. We are following Government guidance and taking all necessary steps to keep everyone safe. This means that all fundraising events due to take place in the near future have been cancelled or postponed. Those events which are due to take place later this year or next year remain open until we are advised otherwise. If you have already signed up to participate in an event which needs to be postponed or cancelled, you will be notified by an email from our events team.
During these uncertain times, our aim is to continue to care for local terminally children and their families as far as possible. Undoubtedly the income we rely on from the public, our fundraising events and our shops is going to be affected and we will plan to overcome these challenges as much as possible. We rely on donations from the public to fund our work and we need support now more than ever. If you would like to support us and make a donation you can do so at www.helenanddouglas.org.uk/donate/.
