Brahms Requiem with Warriner Choral Society

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this stunning work and help Warriner Choral Society raise funds for Helen & Douglas House at the same time. Proceeds from this concert go to this worthy local cause.

Warriner Choral Society is North Oxfordshire’s largest choral society with over 90 regular members. Formed back in 1972, the choir now boasts singers from five counties. At this special event they will be performing Brahms’ Requiem, which is often referred to as his magnum opus. He laboured over it for eleven years (from 1857 to 1868), While Brahms never finished an opera, his requiem is at once his most theatrical piece and provides a candid glimpse into its composer’s heart, a place he was usually reluctant to let his listeners explore.
