As you know our shops are currently temporarily closed and our fundraising events are postponed so we need your help now more than ever. However, we are hoping that our shops will be re-opening very soon – so watch this space. Please complete our dedicated online form so we can let you know when your local shop will open in your town so you can drop off your donations.
Important noticePlease don’t leave any donations outside our shops as they often get damaged or stolen.
Have a clear-out
In the meantime, while spending more time at home during the lockdown, it is a great time to have a spring clear out of your wardrobe, drawers and cupboards and get rid of things you no longer wear or use. You can put your preloved clothes and accessories to one side and pledge to donate them to us when we re-open. Maybe spend the time you would have been travelling to work once a week to have a sort out.
Sometimes at home, the build-up of stuff means not only are our cupboards, wardrobes and rooms full of things we don’t really want or need, but our minds feel cluttered, and this often generates a feeling of being overwhelmed especially with everything else going on at the moment. So having a clear-out and saving good quality preloved items to donate to us will make you feel better and help the children we care for.
Sadly there are some items we do not accept. Please take a look at this list of goods which cannot be donated to or sold in Helen & Douglas House charity shops.
How pledging your donations will help
By pledging your donation you’re letting us know that we can expect your donation when we reopen when we’ll need your support more than ever. You’ll also be showing that you’re here for your local children’s hospice and help us to get back on our feet once our shops can re-open.
‘The love and support we received from Helen & Douglas House over the years and especially towards the end means so much to us as a family. Please have a clear-out and donate, as the charity needs you to help families like us.’ Marie, Ollie’s mum.
