Our Great Coin Challenge is a great way to keep your children entertained during lockdown with some fun activities for them to do whilst at the same time raising money for Helen & Douglas House to help local terminally ill children.
Given most of us are not using coins in shops at the moment, so you have probably got lots of loose change around the house not only in your purse but also in the car, under the sofa cushions and in many other nooks and crannies around your house. Just finding the coins in a scavenger hunt could be fun.
To take part just follow these three simple steps:
Step 1 – Design your own money box
Find an empty, clean jar and decorate this adding the words: Helen & Douglas House Coin Challenge or download our jar wrap from our website www.hdh.org.uk.
Step 2 – Choose which Great Coin Challenges you will take part in
Here are 10 Great Coin Challenges which are also fundraising activities you and your children can do together:
Step 3 -Donate online
Once you have completed all your challenges and filled your jar with coins, count up how much money you have raised and donate this money online. Ensure you mention the Coin Challenge on our donation form about how you heard about us and we will send you a Coin Challenge certificate to proudly display at home.
Your children can maybe keep the coins in the jar and bring them into one of our charity shops once they re-open to spend on some toys.
Good luck with your Great Coin Challenges.
