Regular Giving

Thanks to our regular givers we are able to provide our valuable service to many local families

How Regular Gifts helps us

We rely on the kind support of our regular donors to raise over £3 million every year to fund the care our families depend on, and every donation makes a huge difference to each and every family going through the toughest times imaginable.

Giving a small amount on an ongoing basis allows us to plan ahead so that we can give our families the long-term care they need. It also means we can be confident that we’ll be able to continue this important work for years to come.

If you have any questions about giving on a regular basis, please see our FAQs at the bottom of the page. Or you can email fundraising@helenanddouglas.org.uk, or call 01865 799150 to find out more.

For every £1 received of statutory sources

we need to raise a further £6.00 to fund care for the children and families we support.

Help care for local children, like Jack

Jack first came to Helen & Douglas House after suffering from severe brain damage from being starved of oxygen after being born six weeks early. At a frightening and uncertain time for his family, the hospice greeted them with warmth and care and gave them the confidence to deal with Jack’s needs. Nearly five years on, the hospice gives the family the chance to recharge and spend time together.

‘It could be your son, daughter, niece, nephew or grandchildren who needs vital support from Helen & Douglas House and without regular donations, they may not have the support they need, when they need it.’

Mary, Jack’s Mum

Become a monthly giver

By setting up a regular gift to us, we can plan ahead better to help to continue to support families just like Jack’s. Whether it be monthly, quarterly or yearly, you can set up a regular donation from just £5.

See for yourself how your regular gift can make a BIG impact over the course of a year…

Carers

Giving £10 a month for a year could pay for a carer for one day. This means our children can enjoy activities that they wouldn’t normally be able to.

Doctors’ care

Giving £15 a month over one year could pay for a doctor for four hours, helping our children be as well as they can while staying at the hospice.

Bereavement counselling

Giving £20 a month for a year could pay for five bereavement counselling sessions for parents who’ve just suffered the heartbreak of losing a child.

‘Knowing that we have the support of Helen & Douglas House takes some of the fear out of our situation, knowing there will be people to talk to and to help us if the worst happens.’

Vicky, Jessica’s mum

‘When you get there, you are kind of cocooned in a place where everything is OK. For Jack it is somewhere he can go and do something a bit different.’

Jane, Jack’s mum

‘When we need a few days to spend as a couple or concentrate on our other two children, Helen & Douglas house provides Sienna with a welcome and safe place to go.’

Kay, Sienna’s mum

We work with Real Fundraising who help us with our door-to-door fundraising activities. A representative will have a badge and they will always identify themselves and that they are raising money for Helen & Douglas House.

We understand that not everyone will wish to sign up to a regular gift there and then, therefore please do let the fundraiser know. You can contact us or visit our Donate page to set up a regular gift if you would like to do this at another time.
