Experience the thrill of bursting through a rainbow of bubbles up to four feet high during our popular foamy 5k fun run.
The course is family-friendly, so you can run, jog, walk, dance or toddle through the route. The course is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and there’s no minimum or maximum age limit (although children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult).
The route will be three x 1.6k loops, meaning you get covered in bubbles a fantastic twelve times! If 5k is too far, do not worry, you can peel off after one or two loops and enjoy a refreshment in the event village.

Bubble Rush FAQs:
Are teams allowed?
Absolutely! There’s no upper limit, so bring the whole class, group, Brownie/Scout pack or office! We have even had birthday parties come along and take part.
Are there toilets and changing rooms?
Yes, there are toilets, including accessible cubicles, available onsite.
There are changing rooms that you can use to get out of your bubbly clothes and into warm, dry ones after doing your Bubble Run.
What should I wear/bring?
The most important thing to bring is your Bubble Rush t-shirt! The t-shirt acts as your ticket to enter the event and is included in the ticket price.
You can wear whatever else you like – but be aware that the coloured foam can stain clothing, so we recommend that you don’t come along in your best clothes. We definitely encourage colourful fancy dress!
You may also want to wear something that will help protect your eyes while running through the bubble stations. If you’re bringing kids with you, please pack some swimming goggles for them – since the bubbles will probably be deeper than they are tall!
What else should I bring?
A small backpack to carry goggles, water and some old towels to clean up excess foam. We suggest bringing a change of clothes and shoes, as well as a towel, so you can dry off and get warm after the event.
We strongly recommend you bring your own water bottle for yourself and any children you bring with you. There is a water refill tap on site, and refreshments will be available in the event village. We do not give out single-use water bottles.
What if I forget something?
Sunglasses, children’s goggles, towels and reusable bottles will be available for purchase on our merchandise stands.
We also sell tutus, Hawaiian-style neck garlands, sweatbands and more!
Can I park there?
Yes, there is onsite parking available. This is free for you to use, although we would welcome a £2 donation per car for the use of the carpark.
Can I bring my dog?
No, Cokethorpe School does not allow dogs on site.
I've bought my tickets, when will my t-shirt arrive?
T-shirts, wrist bands and event information will be posted to you at the end of August.
Fundraising packs will be sent out in June.
If you registered for Bubble Rush on or after the 1st of September, you will need to collect your t-shirt at the event.
If your t-shirt is the wrong size, we will have a t-shirt swap stand at the event, in which you can bring your incorrectly sized t-shirt and swap it for the correct size.
Why is fundraising important?
Your ticket helps cover the costs of running the event, but we rely on your additional fundraising to support our vital services at Helen & Douglas House.
By raising £20 per person, you could make an incredible difference to the lives of terminally ill children and babies in your local community.
What is in the foam?
The foam mixture used is completely safe. The dye in the foam gives vibrant colours, however it is a food dye and is water soluble so it’s environmentally friendly too. In fact the creamy foam has the same viscosity as water and does not contain any soap at all. It is safe for people with nut allergies and gluten intolerance.
Slight stinging in your eyes may occur, however the pH balance is very low. Just be careful when wiping your eyes with your hands if they have frothy suds all over them. We suggest you pack an old towel to take around with you to remove excess foam after you’ve finished in the bubbles, and have some extra towels in the car for the journey home – or better still a change of clothes!
We have tested the foam mixture on all manner of humans without issue. The mixture that we use is drier than most foam; therefore you won’t be soaked and won’t be slipping around in the foam.
For more details, you can download a full list of the foam/coloured dye ingredients.
Is there somewhere to leave my bag?
There will be a bag drop available on the day. It will open at 10:00 and close at 13:30. Although this service is not charged for, we recommend a donation of £2 which will go towards the hospice.

- If you have taken cash sponsorship, you can bring your sponsorship money and completed form to the Help Desk on the day
