We are looking for someone who is commercially focused, has a passion to outperform the competition and aims to give a good customer service and experience to join Helen & Douglas House on a Zero Hour Contract as a Relief Shop Supervisor, providing cover to our shops based in Thame, and the wider Oxfordshire area.
Helen & Douglas House, the world’s first children’s hospice and based in Oxford, has a network of retail outlets across the extended local area. These shops are central to our fundraising programme and you could become a key part in making a real difference to the lives of children and their wider families.
Who we are looking for:
Our Relief Shop Supervisors play a vital role by providing extra resilience during times of annual leave or unplanned absence, ensuring our shops stay open supporting the work of Helen & Douglas House. This is going to be a busy, people focused role and the ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in a charity shop as a volunteer or experience of working at supervisory level in the retail sector. The following skills are essential:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to delegate.
- Visual merchandising skills.
- Excellent customer service.
- Computer literacy.
We are looking for a good team player with a flexible approach to working hours who is committed to the aims and objectives of Helen & Douglas House and wants to be part of something special.

Helen & Douglas House is a charity based in Oxford that provides hospice care to children and young adults, and their families. Our mission is to add quality, time, and depth to shortened lives using the skills of our whole team. We provide a range of services including specialist palliative care and medically supported short breaks.
