What roles are available?
Band 5 Practice Development Nurse
Are you a resourceful Registered Nurse with teaching qualifications who is passionate about identifying, planning, developing, and managing the education and development needs of our clinical practitioners? Your valued knowledge and experience will benefit our utterly dedicated nursing teams who are focused on personal growth and achieving clinical excellence. Your focus on allowing people to flourish and grow will enable our clinical practitioners to deliver innovative, patient-centred care in the ever-evolving hospice nursing environment. By providing a systematic approach of effective and sustained changes in practice, you will contribute to building culture and shared values around collaborative and interprofessional multi-professional learning.
Band 5 Registered Nurse
You will be a skilled communicator, able to adapt communications to a wide range of people and situations. Your ability to cope with pressure and to adapt to emergencies or altered requirements will contribute to improving the lives of seriously unwell children and their families. You will have the time to focus on prevention and relief of suffering by means of impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychological, and spiritual.
Band 6 Registered Nurse
A wealth of staff training and support underpins the challenging yet rewarding work that our multi-disciplinary team do. You will be caring for patients to a standard you always hoped would be possible. You will be providing holistic, family centered and tailored care to meet the needs of each child and their family; by adapting a flexible approach and employing your excellent communication skills you will act as a resource to help empower and advocate for families. Your key objective of optimising quality of care will include promoting partnership working with the family and other healthcare professionals, volunteers and doctors and putting the best interests of the child at the forefront of care by making informed choices regarding end-of-life care.
Band 7 Clinical Lead
As part of this role, you will have the ability to work autonomously: planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of children in the hospice who are on a Palliative Care or End of Life pathway, including symptom control. Your strong clinical leadership and management to our team of Nurses and Clinical Support Workers will encourage teamwork and empower the team to deliver excellent care. You will be a professional who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but can also apply these qualities to your team members.
