Looking to make a difference in your local community? We are recruiting enthusiastic Community Champions to help us spread as much awareness about Helen & Douglas House as possible.
As a Helen & Douglas Community Champion, you will be an ambassador for the charity, meeting supporters and representing Helen & Douglas House at supporter events and occasions we’re invited to attend in the community.
How do I get involved?
Whether you’re already a confident public speaker or someone looking to develop your public speaking skills, opportunities arise from attending an event to say thank you and do a cheque presentation through to delivering speeches and presentations, for the more confident among us. We are looking for people who can use their passion and communication skills to represent the charity and help our local community understand the full range of services Helen & Douglas provides, and how people can get involved in supporting.
The commitment is flexible to suit you, and opportunities are ad hoc depending on the time of year, your location and how far you are able to travel. We can’t wait to welcome you into our team of Community Champions!
Experience and training
All training and materials will be provided, as well as the opportunity to shadow one of our Community Fundraisers before your first solo outing. The ability to use a computer/laptop and familiarity with programmes such as Microsoft PowerPoint/Teams are advantageous, but not compulsory for the role.
