A massive thank you to Claire from Embracing Arts for putting on an incredible sensory show at the hospice last week. We were joined by children and their families who use Helen & Douglas House services.

A sensory-tastic afternoon

From vibrant colours to captivating music, and even interactive toys, Claire’s energy brought joy, smiles and laughter to the children and their families.

The children enjoyed dancing along to the music, exploring various textures, and even giggling as they were sprayed with water… And some of the Care Team were even sprayed too!

The benefits of Sensory Play

Sensory play isn’t just fun – it’s incredibly beneficial for the development of the children in our care.

  • Stimulates and enhances senses through sight, sounds, texture and aromas
  • Encourages exploration
  • Creates precious memories
  • Offers an alternative way for children to explore and express themselves

Take a look at some photos from the show…
