Let their light

shine on

Remember your loved one on our Tree of Light and support terminally ill children this Christmas.

At Helen & Douglas House, we know how important it is to celebrate and remember loved ones, especially at Christmas.

The Tree of Light is a place to honour the lives of those we hold dear and let their light shine on. Add a loved one’s name, photo, and a message to the virtual tree below.

Names will also be hung on our physical Tree of Light at Helen & Douglas House during the festive period. And any name added before the 17th of November will be hung on the Tree of Light that can be seen in Christ Church Cathedral for our annual Christmas Concert.

How it works

The tree is covered in lights that glow when dedicated to someone special. Each light has space to add a photo and write a message – to remember and celebrate your loved one’s life. You can share a link to the tree so friends and family can get involved too.

Step 1: Click here or on the tree below to choose your light

Step 2: Click Select & Dedicate. Donations made alongside your dedication are warmly received.

Step 3: Personalise your light with a message and a photo

The difference your donation could make

We need to raise £66,000 to help fund the total cost of care this Christmas. A kind donation to the Tree of Light could help us reach this goal.

Christmas is often our busiest time of year. We are likely to support at least 71 seriously unwell children in ways you would never expect. Over the Christmas period, the care team will go above and beyond to make our hospice feel like home, even at a time when that might feel impossible.

But we can’t do this without your help. Your kindness has the power to transform a child’s Christmas in a place no family expects to be.
