Fundraising target of £375 (£250 of which must have been raised by the date of your skydive)

£80 per person

This is a great event for thrill-seekers and adrenaline lovers. Pluck up the courage and skydive for charity – jump out of an aircraft at 13,000 feet all in aid of a good cause.

After a short briefing, you will be ready to jump from 13,000 feet. Training is run throughout the morning and you will be strapped to the front of a tandem instructor who is there to control the skydive for you.

Once you leave the plane at 13,000 feet, you accelerate to 120 mph, covering each thousand feet in approximately five seconds.

At 5,000 feet the Instructor will deploy the parachute which will then be controlled by both people until you land softly and gently some four minutes later. So skydive for charity and have an experience you’ll never forget.

Skydiving Terms:

Participants must be over the age of 16. There is no upper age limit as long as you are physically fit and healthy you can self-declare by completing BPA medical form 115A which is attached to all booking confirmations.

This booking is subject to availability at the airfield, we will confirm whether your skydive will go ahead on your chosen date as soon as possible after you have registered.

Skydives are on a first come first served basis, please be prepared to spend several hours at the airfield.

Please read the full terms and conditions before registering.

FAQ’s

Temperatures can change on the day so it’s important that you wear plenty of layers to keep you warm. It’s better to wear lots of smaller layers as opposed to one big bulky layer. Wear soft-heeled shoes, trainers are a good example. Tracksuit bottoms or leggings would be a good example of what to wear on your bottom half, shorts not advised.

Yes, the average temperature at 13,000ft is between -10 and -14. Please ensure you wear lots of layers.

Yes, absolutely. We encourage friends and family to come and join us on the day.

There are only 3 conditions that will cancel the jump: solid rain, solid low-level cloud or a wind speed above 20 knots per hour. If you are concerned, the skydiving centre will be able to confirm. You can call them on 01295 812300. We will also call the skydive on the morning of your dive to double-check weather conditions at the airfield.

If you’d like to be on the same flight as your friend it’s important that you arrive together as training is done in groups. Flights are done in groups of 3-4 people after you’ve had your training.

The whole event is expected to last half a day, we cannot guarantee the exact time of your skydive as it’s done on a first come, first served basis. Each cycle lasts roughly 20 minutes.

Craig skydive 2022

Craig, Ella's dad who skydived this summer

“I had an experience of a lifetime. Everyone was just so brave and lovely. We felt so proud of each other for jumping and knowing we were all doing it to help Helen & Douglas House which made it so special. We will remember this day for the rest of our lives.”

Why should you skydive for Helen & Douglas House?

Max is 11 years old and lives in Swindon with his Mum and Dad and sister Eva. Max has been coming to Helen & Douglas House for 5 years for respite care because he has end-stage renal failure and a mitochondrial disorder. Read Max’s story.

Claire Max’s Mum said ‘If we didn’t have Helen & Douglas House our lives would be much tougher and we wouldn’t have a rest. When we stay there we feel relieved because we know life will get a bit easier. We need these days to recharge to ensure we can give Max all the care he needs.’
