Family Communication Preferences

Opt-in to recieve communications from the hospice that are designed specifically for families like yours. If you are a family whose child has been cared for or supported by Helen & Douglas House, either currently or in the past, then we have communications written for families like yours. But, before we can send you these, we need you to opt-in.

By entering or updating your details, you’re confirming that you’d like to hear from us about the latest news and updates from the hospice and how you prefer to be contacted. Please note, if you have previously opted-in to e.g supporter communications, this is different to the below, and we’ll continue to contact you in the ways you have already confirmed.

Change of details? If your address or contact details have changed please update them here. Enter your unique reference/donorflex number if known, please leave blank if this is a new entry or unknown.

When you fill in your preferences and updated details, we will stay in touch with you via the communication method/s you have confirmed. This may include post, email, phone and text. We will send you content from the hospice, which may also feature relevant family events and activities and news about the charity.

FAQ’s

What information will I get if I opt-in? The content we’re asking your permission to send to you may be related to the services you or your child receive but will not include clinical information. Even if you opt-out, or don’t reply, you will continue to receive clinical updates, but you won’t get any other communications from us which may include relevant family events and activities and news about the charity.

How often will you send me communications? The regularity and type of communications you’ll receive from us may vary and will be sent to you in the most suitable format – this may include email, post, phone and/or text, depending on your opt-in preferences. You may also opt-out at any point (please see the next point). 

What happens if I change my mind about opting-in? You can let us know at any time if you would prefer to pause or stop receiving communications from us. You can do this by emailing [email protected], calling 01865 799150, or writing to Fundraising – Helen & Douglas House, 14a Magdalen Road, Oxford, OX4 1RW. Please use the reference ‘Family communications opt-in’.

What details do you need from me? This is your opportunity to let us know how you would like us to communicate with you. Please let us know how you would like to be addressed, what email you would like to be contacted on and your postal address. If there is any additional information needed, for example, if you’d like to add an additional email or contact to your file, please indicate this in the box titled ‘Further information’. If your details change at any point, please contact us.

How will you store my personal details? At Helen & Douglas House we are committed to ensuring your privacy and the security of your personal information. We promise to respect any of your personal data that is shared with us and to keep it safe. We aim to be clear about where and when we collect your data and not do anything with it that you wouldn’t reasonably expect us to. Find out more at: www.helenanddouglas.org.uk/privacy.

Do I have to reply? You do not have to reply, however, if you do not wish to receive the latest content from us, it is beneficial if you can reply and tick the opt-out boxes. This is so that we know you have seen this email and know that you have opted-out.
