Social Media House Rules
Our social media team manages official Helen & Douglas House accounts across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube. Social media is a powerful tool that helps us, as a charity, raise awareness about the work we do and promote our events and activities. These channels are used to share updates about our services, news, events, and stories from across the charity.
We encourage engagement through likes, shares, and comments and appreciate everyone who does. Social media is also great to use if you’re promoting you’re own fundraising activities but we ask that all interactions remain respectful.
To help maintain a safe and welcoming online space, we’ve outlined a few simple house rules:
Be respectful
- Please treat our content and community with kindness and respect.
- All users must follow both the platform’s Terms of Use and our own guidelines.
- You are responsible for the content you post, including comments and shared material.
Content moderation
We reserve the right to remove any posts or comments that we consider:
- Inappropriate or offensive
- Insensitive or discriminatory
- Misleading or deceptive
- In violation of laws or regulations
- Spam or deliberately provocative
Where necessary, we may disable comments, report content, or block users who breach these rules.
Zero tolerance for abuse
We will not tolerate abusive behaviour. Users who repeatedly post harmful or inappropriate content will be blocked and/or reported to the relevant platform.
Thank you for helping us keep our social media channels positive and supportive. Together, we can continue to share meaningful stories and raise awareness of the vital care we provide to children with terminal or life-shortening conditions.
