Reed Specialist Recruitment, based in Seacourt Tower in Oxford, held a series of fundraising events in aid of local children’s hospice, Helen & Douglas House raising £5,100 for the charity.

The fundraising events held between 8th February and 8th March included a bake sale, static cycle ride, delivered, individually wrapped Helen & Douglas House doughnuts to clients across Oxfordshire, Wax The Business Manager and a client event, evening Quiz and raffle.

Rich Davenall from Reed said “We chose to support Helen & Douglas House due to our overwhelming awareness of the importance of their work in the local community. Some of us have first-hand experience of their services, and as a collective we decided that now was an appropriate time to pull together and contribute to the cause. By undertaking a number of different activities we managed to engage our client base, and were very pleasantly surprised with the response – which naturally made it all the more enjoyable! We have made the decision to partner with Helen & Douglas on an ongoing basis to ensure this is not a one-off campaign, and are delighted that a number of our clients have chosen to join us in doing so over the year ahead.”

Lucy Walker from Helen & Douglas House said “I would like to say a huge thank you to Reed for raising this money to help us care for local terminally ill children, young adults and their families. The money raised will go towards providing medical, emotional and practical support, helping families deal with the implications of living with a child who will die prematurely, so they can make the most of their time together. It really has been, and continues to be, such an amazing partnership where Reed l have not only involved their staff in fundraising but also their clients. As a charity we rely on donations like this to support our families and cannot do this without the help of amazing supporters like Reed.”
