Helen & Douglas House cares for local terminally children and their families at our hospice in Oxford and at home. Our shops help raise the £3.6 million we need to find each year to keep our charity running providing this invaluable support to families facing the unimaginable prospect of losing a child. Each time you shop with us, you’re helping local families make the most of the precious time they have left together.
We are delighted to let you know that our shops will be re-opening on Wednesday 2nd December* just in time for you to do your Christmas shopping. Welcome back – we’ve missed you.
Winter stock appeal – If you have been saving up donations over the last month or you could donate any good quality, saleable winter clothing, please drop them into your local shop when we re-open. However please do not leave these outside our shops.
Secret Santa presents – This Christmas is going to be different for everyone so why not change the way you give presents. Ask your friends or relatives to buy a secret Santa gift from Helen & Douglas House and then you will be giving twice, helping local terminally ill children.
Stocking fillers – Buying presents to fill your children’s Christmas stocking can become expensive. We have lots of great children’s books, toys, games and clothes in our shops as well as on our charity eBay, which are a fraction of high street prices.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy Christmas.
* Our shops in Abingdon, Marlow and Henley will open on the 3rd and Cirencester, Cowley Road, Oxford and Stow-on-the-Wold will not open this year.

Other easy ways to help your local hospice
Without your wonderful donations, we wouldn’t be able to keep our shops open. Just one bag of donated clothes can be worth an average of £30 to us, and even more with Gift Aid. If you’ve got some clothes, books, toys or anything else you no longer need, find out more about donating to our shops.
Donate to our shops
Your donation can help terminally ill children. Help us stock our shops knowing your donations support our hospice.
Make your donations go further with Gift Aid. For every £1 we raise from the sale of your donated goods, we’ll get an extra 25p.
Just three hours a week can make a huge difference, so why not become a shop volunteer and help your local hospice?
