Fundraising and events volunteering opportunities

Meet Anne, Anvita, and Helen – some of our fundraising and events volunteers
Anne volunteering at the Helen & Douglas House Bubble Rush fun run.

Anne has been a proud events volunteer for over 10 years

Anne supports the Helen & Douglas House fundraising and events team in many ways, from selling merchandise at the Bubble Rush family fun run to sourcing Christmas raffle prizes from local stores.

Anvita, an events volunteer, and a young girl holding a Helen & Douglas House banner and balloons.

Anvita began volunteering in 2021

From being a tutor to helping at children’s parties, Network Saturdays, and local fundraising events, such as the Oxford Half Marathon, Anvita’s dedication and enthusiasm have significantly impacted Helen & Douglas House and the families we care for.

Helen’s volunteering journey

Helen’s involvement with Helen & Douglas House began during her childhood when her sister Shona was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

“Growing up, the memories of Helen & Douglas House and how they supported the family in the year before Shona passed have always stuck with me.”

As an adult, Helen wanted to give back to the charity that had profoundly impacted her life. She regularly helps at Helen & Douglas House fundraising events and is also a Home Support Volunteer.
