Events Volunteers

We are looking for Events Volunteers to help support Helen & Douglas House across the year with a range of activities. You will be part of a large team of enthusiastic volunteers helping out before, during and after events.

Our fundraising events are a major part of generating income to be able to continue to support terminally ill children and young adults, and we really need your support.

Just some of our fundraising events planned across the rest of 2024 are:

  • Role: Many and varied, such as car park attendant, welcome & help desk, bag drop, route marshals, bubble station monitor and merchandise seller.

Oxford Half Marathon

Join in and cheer on! The atmosphere is thrilling and the stories are truly inspiring. Our incredible #TeamHDH runners will need some extra support while they take on this iconic challenge. Could it be you?

  • Time & Location: Sunday 13th October – morning & early afternoon in or around Oxford.
  • Role: Join our cheer squad and cheer on our incredible runners. It’s a great chance to soak up the thrilling atmosphere at this iconic event in central Oxford and in Summertown.

Fire Walk

This event certainly is a hot one! We’re seeking volunteers who can offer their support to fundraisers as they brave the elements and walk over the firey coals.

  • Time & Location: TBC November – afternoon & early evening in Oxford area.
  • Role: Could you help out at this epic mind over matter challenge? An exciting event with chances to help out at whatever level you are able to commit.
