We’re looking for someone passionate about supporting local families and children to become a Helen & Douglas House champion volunteer!
As a Helen & Douglas Champion, you will be an ambassador for the charity, meeting supporters and representing Helen & Douglas House at supporter events and occasions we’re invited to attend in the community.
Responsibilities
- As a Helen & Douglas House Champion, you will exude our
core values and build positive relationships with individuals,
groups, schools and businesses - Tasks include cheque presentations, attending events, making
short thank you speeches and giving presentations. You can
choose what you prefer to do
Time commitment
- Opportunities occur throughout the week, including daytime,
evenings and weekends. We would appreciate your support for
a few hours per month, flexible to suit you
Experience and training
- Experience of speaking at events is desirable, but not required.
Speaker training can be provided if needed and you will be
given all the information and materials needed to give talks - Ability to use a computer/laptop and familiarity with programmes
such as Microsoft Power-Points/ Teams, are advantageous but
not compulsory for the role

- Flexibility and adaptability, using your initiative when volunteering on your own
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Confident when speaking to people at events
- Access to car/public transport
