Meet Sally, our Director of Nursing & Care at Helen & Douglas House. Sally started at the hospice in September and we met up with her to find out more about her story, why she wanted to work at Helen & Douglas House, what she does in her limited personal time and her highlights of working at the hospice so far.
With 28 years of diverse nursing experience across hospital, community, charitable sectors, and university education, Sally brings a deep commitment to delivering compassionate care. She already holds a master’s degree and is currently in the process of completing more learning in medical law and bioethics – this will deepen her understanding of the ethical complexities in healthcare.
Helen & Douglas House resonates deeply with my passion for providing holistic, compassionate care to children and their families at often on of the most challenging times in their lives. Working in a hospice setting allows me to contribute meaningfully to an environment where clinical excellence and emotional support are paramount. I feel honoured to be working with a team where the dedication to enhancing the quality of life for children and their families is in everything we do.
