We're looking for an Archive Filing Volunteer to help us review and organise our archive of content. You'll be reviewing content and determining whether it should be retained or destroyed in line with our policies and set criteria. The filing includes medical records, financial information, and other sensitive personal data.
Helen & Douglas House is supported by dedicated volunteers who work alongside our teams to help deliver practical support across the charity. This support is a vital part of what we do.
By providing administrative support, volunteers enable our teams to spend more time focusing on raising the money and funds needed to give the care to our families that they need.
This role will be reviewing the contents of our archived filing that built up over time, determining its contents and whether it should be retained or destroyed, in line with our policies and set criteria, and keeping a record of the decision. The filing includes medical records, financial information, and other sensitive personal data. Doing this work is important for us to abide by the guidelines and standards set out by the regulatory bodies we are overseen by.
You will be supported in this role at the hospice in Oxford by experienced Helen & Douglas House staff and it can be flexible around your existing commitments. We would be looking for a regular slot of at least one morning or afternoon a week and anticipate this role could last for a few months or more, depending on progress.
You will need to have a good attention to detail and previous experience in an office environment and in the archiving of material is desirable but not essential. Please do read the Role Profile for more information on what this opportunity entails.
