A massive THANK YOU to each and every one of the remarkable individuals who ran and raised money for Helen & Douglas House at the London Marathon last Sunday. Your dedication and determination have truly amazed us! Many of our runners were running in memory of siblings or children, so it was a very special day. Check out some of the inspiring stories from our runners in our blog post here.
Conquering an epic 26 miles is an unbelievable achievement. Whether you ran in honour of a loved one, to raise awareness of our charity or as a corporate representative striving to make a difference, you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We are honoured to have you as part of our Helen & Douglas House family.
But wait, there’s more good news!
The London Marathon team have now raised £97,860, and with expected Gift Aid added, that comes to a phenomenal £112,632. This incredible amount could fund two outreach nurses for a year, providing vital care to local terminally ill children and their families. What an extraordinary challenge you have all taken part in!
To our volunteers
We would also like to thank our amazing volunteers who cheered on our runners, helping to motivate them and keep up momentum when they needed it the most. Jane, our CEO, also joined the cheer squad and supported our fantastic runners.
