Meet Jane, our new CEO

We are thrilled to officially welcome and introduce our new CEO Jane Long to Helen & Douglas House.  Jane officially started on 23 October and joins us from Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing which is one of the UK’s largest providers of affordable housing and care and social/community support services.

Clare Periton has spent eight years as CEO and ten years prior to that as Director of Clinical Services and Deputy Chief Executive. Clare will be working with Jane to provide a smooth handover before she leaves in mid-November with our very best wishes.

Former Chief Executive Clare said:

‘Helen & Douglas House is the world’s first children’s hospice and has been caring for children and their families for 40 years.  It has been a privilege to play my part in leading the organisation and making a difference to children’s lives. I am incredibly proud of everything that our talented staff and volunteers have achieved and after eighteen years’ service it is the right time for me to step down. I wish Jane every success in this role which I have enjoyed immensely.’

New Chief Executive Jane said:

‘I am thrilled to have now started in my role as CEO at Helen & Douglas House.  I am passionate about the much needed services and care that it provides for children and their families and am looking forward to leading and working with the incredible staff and volunteers that make it such a special place.’

‘Jane brings with her a wealth of relevant experience in senior roles and has a proven track record of success. We believe that she is an excellent candidate to lead Helen & Douglas House through its next phase of development. Jane’s leadership skills, strategic vision and commitment to excellence, align perfectly with our values and long-term goals.’

A warm welcome to Helen & Douglas House Jane.
