Snapchat is a popular social networking and messaging app for both iOS and Android which you can use to add various effects to your photos and videos. Its most popular features are the fun and colourful filters, which can be based on your location.

The competition is open only to people at the Helen & Douglas House Rainbow Run on 24th June 2017.
You have the chance of winning one of five Family Photography Gift Experience Vouchers worth £160 each, kindly donated by Barrett & Coe.
The opening date for entries is Saturday 24th June 2017. The closing date for entries is midnight on Sunday 25th June 2017.
To win use our Rainbow Run Snapchat filter, available only on the 24th June, take selfies (photos and films) and share them on your social media such as Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
There is no limit to the number of entries per account or on which social channels they are shared.
On Snapchat, make sure to add us to your contacts as @helen_douglas17, this will allow us to view your entries.
You must post your entries via a public Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account, and include our branded username depending on the channel.
Are you new to Snapchat? Here is how to find and use our Rainbow Run Snapchat filter:
Step 1: Download the free Snapchat app to your Android or iOS device. Once installed, open it on your phone and login with an existing account or create a new one.
Step 2: Take a photo or record a film.
Step 3: Depending on your location you may have multiple filters to select from. Swipe from left to right of your screen to discover filters available in your current location. Keep swiping to find the Rainbow Run filter, which will overlay on your photo.
If this is your first time applying a filter, tap Allow when asked if Snapchat can use location services. Doing so will take you to your phone’s location settings for Snapchat, where you’ll need to tap Location and then tap While Using the App (iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch) or slide the Location slider right (Android).
Step 4: Once you’ve captured your Snap you can send it to the Snapchat contacts you select, post it to your Story (visible for 24 hours), or just save the photo/video to your camera roll and use it on any other social media channel such as Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
Struggling to see the location filter? You may need to enable the location filter for Snapchat as some filters require access to your location to work.
iOS – Open the Settings app. Scroll down and tap Privacy. Then tap Location Services. Slide the button next to Location Services to the “On” position if it’s not already green. Scroll down and tap Snapchat. Tap while using the app.
Android – Open the Settings app. Select Location and then toggle Location on at the top of the menu.

There is no limit to the number of entries per account.
Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram require users to be a minimum of thirteen (13) years of age to use the service, therefore anyone under thirteen (13) must have a parent/guardian enter the contest on their behalf.
Five winners will be selected on Tuesday 27th June 2017 by a panel of Helen & Douglas House judges based on creativity and originality.
Winners will be informed on Thursday 29th of June and they will receive their prize by 14th July.
Winners will be announced on the Helen and Douglas website on the 6th of July 2017.
The vouchers can only be redeemed by 24th August 2017.
This voucher is not refundable in cash.
Vouchers are not transferable, refundable or exchangeable for cash or replaceable if lost, destroyed or stolen.
Vouchers can only be used for a single transaction.
