Experience the thrill of bursting through a rainbow of bubbles up to four feet high during our popular foamy 5k fun run in Oxfordshire this September. Following the success of last year’s event, we’re back at Cokethorpe School, Witney.

The course is family-friendly, so you can run, jog, walk, dance or toddle through the route. The course is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and there’s no minimum or maximum age limit (although children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult).

The route will be three x 1.6k loops, meaning you get covered in bubbles a fantastic twelve times! If 5k is too far, do not worry, you can peel off after one or two loops and enjoy a refreshment in the event village.

Make a day of it! Stay on afterwards to enjoy bubbly activities in our event village for a great morning of foamy fun. Activities include:

  • Food and drink
  • Live Music
  • Face painting
  • Colourful merchandise
  • Selfie zone to take your before and after photos
    Bubble Rush FAQs:

Absolutely!! There’s no upper limit, so bring the whole class, group, Brownie/Scout pack or office! We have even had birthday parties come along and take part.

Yes, there is onsite parking available. This is free for you to use, although we would welcome a £2 donation per car for the use of the carpark.

Just use the postcode of OX29 7PU. The school is located off the A415 and on arrival, please follow the signs and marshal’s directions towards the car park.

The car park is located just next to the event village. A pavilion with toilets and changing rooms is also right next to the car park.

You can wear whatever you like – but be aware that the coloured foam can stain clothing so we recommend that you don’t come along in your best clothes. Don’t forget that a Bubble Rush t-shirt is included in your ticket price. We definitely encourage colourful fancy dress! On the day you will be able to buy from our merchandise stall items such as tutus, Hawaiian-style neck garlands, sunglasses and sweatbands.

You may also want to wear something that will help protect your eyes while running through the bubble stations. If you’re bringing kids with you, please pack some swimming goggles for them – since the bubbles will probably be deeper than they are tall! Sunglasses are available to buy from the merchandise stall on the day if you forget to bring any.

    What else should I bring?

A small back pack to carry goggles, water and some old towels to clean up excess foam. We suggest bringing a change of clothes and shoes, as well as a towel, so you can dry down and get warm after the event. We also recommend you bring your own water bottle for yourself and any children you bring with you.

The foam mixture used is completely safe. The dye in the foam gives vibrant colours, however it is a food dye and is water soluble so it’s environmentally friendly too. In fact the creamy foam has the same viscosity as water and does not contain any soap at all. It is safe for people with nut allergies and gluten intolerance.

Slight stinging in your eyes may occur, however the pH balance is very low. Just be careful when wiping your eyes with your hands if they have frothy suds all over them. We suggest you pack an old towel to take around with you to remove excess foam after you’ve finished in the bubbles, and have some extra towels in the car for the journey home – or better still a change of clothes!

We have tested the foam mixture on all manner of humans without issue. The mixture that we use is drier than most foam; therefore you won’t be soaked and won’t be slipping around in the foam.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the grounds of Cokethorpe school so please leave your furry friends at home for this event.

There will be a bag drop available on the day. It will open at 10:00 and close at 13:30. Although this service is not charged for, we recommend a donation of £2 which will go towards the hospice.

The Event Village is also right next to the car park, so you are welcome to leave your change of clothes in your car until you need them (although items left in your car at your own risk).

Children love Bubble Rush, but children under 16 must be accompanied around the course by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. They cannot do the course on their own.

For their safety you should hold the hand of any child under 5 when walking through the foam. Younger children can be carried. You will received wristbands in your packs – please add your phone number to these and ensure children are wearing them so we can phone you if they wander away from you in the bubbles!

If 5km is too much for little legs, they can just do one or two 1.7km loops instead of the full three.

Yes, there is a pavilion with toilets, including accessible cubicles available onsite near the car park.

Fiona, who took part in 2023

“I was blown away by the atmosphere at this year’s Bubble Rush. My daughter and I had a blast; it went beyond our expectations. All that fun whilst raising money for a great cause, it’s a win-win!”
