Corporate support is vital in helping our patients and their families to live every moment. Our children’s hospice is a special place where families can make the most of their time together and create happy memories during their children’s short lives. The care we offer is free of charge to the families who need it and are eligible.
We rely on the generosity of the public to keep our doors open, with voluntary donations making up the majority of the over £3.6 million every year we need to find to run the hospice service. Find out more about what we do and who we helpat Helen & Douglas House.

Make a difference this Christmas
Christmas is a special time of year and is all about making precious memories with our loved ones. However, for families who have lost, or facing the loss of, a child, this can be a difficult time. Give £102 to help fund one team member of the family support and bereavement team or, donate £308 and you’ll be funding the whole team for the day.
You’ll be helping to provide vital family and bereavement support this Christmas to families like Mike’s. Mike was father to Ben and Ollie who were both cared for by Helen & Douglas House.
Local children like Lily-Mae need your help today
Lily-Mae, who sadly died in September 2021, had been coming to Helen & Douglas House since 2017. Born in 2013, Lily-Mae was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in 2015, which caused regular seizures. It took some time for Mum Leanne to come to Helen & Douglas House, but now she is glad she did as her regular visits helped give her the chance to be mum, rather than carer and to get the support that both she and Lily-Mae needed.
‘Helen & Douglas House was my daughter’s special place, to be safe, smile & be happy. A place for me to be mummy and to take ‘the carer’ role away. Life is precious and here we were able to make memories that we could treasure forever.’ Leanne, Lily-Mae’s mummy
